01Zellige
Handmade glazed clay tiles from Morocco. Every piece is slightly different in colour and surface, so a wall catches the light like water.
- Best for
- Feature walls, showers, splashbacks
- Care
- Irregular by nature, so it needs an experienced hand and a suitable grout. Seal unglazed edges as recommended.
02Large-format porcelain
Dense, hard-wearing and low-absorption. Big sizes mean fewer joints, and stone or marble looks without the upkeep.
- Best for
- Bathrooms, floors, open-plan spaces
- Care
- Very low maintenance. It needs a flat substrate and careful handling when laid.
03Outdoor porcelain
Porcelain made for exteriors, often in stone looks, with textured slip-resistant finishes.
- Best for
- Terraces, pool surrounds, outdoor kitchens
- Care
- Sweep and wash down. Pick the right slip rating for wet areas.
04Glass mosaic (gresite)
Small glass tiles on sheets. Unaffected by chlorine and colourfast in sun, the classic pool finish.
- Best for
- Pools, spas, curved surfaces
- Care
- Keep water chemistry balanced to protect the grout.
05Patterned & azulejo tiles
Painted or printed patterns in the Andalusian and Portuguese tradition. One wall or floor can carry a whole room.
- Best for
- Kitchens, entrances, terrace steps
- Care
- Glazed tiles need little care; handmade ones may need sealing.
06Marble & marble-look
Natural marble is unique and warm, but porous. Marble-look porcelain gives the veining without the sealing.
- Best for
- Bathrooms, splashbacks, statement floors
- Care
- Natural marble should be sealed and kept away from acids; porcelain versions need no sealing.
